  Code of Ethics

 All members of the Professional Association for Swimming Pools and Wellness agree to be dedicated and to comply with the following principles and policies:

  • To contribute to the safety and health of the consumers as far as the design, the manufacture, the installation, and the operation of swimming pools, spas, and hot tubs are concerned by complying with the existing laws, or regulations, by offering high quality services, and by refraining from engaging in fraudulent activities.

  • To control the personnel’s activities, and signal the unfair competition. If one of the members is aware of such a situation, he must inform the hiring enterprise about this.

  • To respect and not to infringe upon the intellectual property rights of the other companies by using their property (projects, pictures), without their prior written consent. The potential violation of this prevision leads to the suspension or exclusion from APPW

  • To advertise products, services and prices truthfully and in accordance with all local or national advertising practices requirements. The potential violation of this prevision leads to the suspension or exclusion from APPW

  • To establish prices in a manner that does not involve collusion with another company, and to clearly communicate these prices to potential customers before providing the respective products or services. The potential violation of this prevision leads to the suspension or exclusion from APPW

  • Not to accept to finish a work already started by another company, without the prior contact of this other company in order to see why it stopped the collaboration with their client. This measure will protect in the sale time APPW members from the clients who do not pay for the services they get.

  • Not to affect the other members' activity or their clients by unfair activities. The potential violation of this prevision leads to the suspension or exclusion from APPW

  • To offer to their clients written contracts or orders to fill which should be in accordance with the law requirements. The potential violation of this prevision leads to the suspension or exclusion from APPW

  • To comply with all discussed terms and agreements, oral or written, regarding the provision of products or services for the customers

  • To respond to any complaint coming from their consumers, made to any governmental or nongovernmental authority. The potential violation of this prevision leads to the suspension or exclusion from APPW

  • To exclude from the company any person who within the past three years, has been convicted or pleaded no contest to crime or felony involving his business or his financial activities. The potential violation of this prevision leads to the suspension or exclusion from APPW. In such cases APPW’s role will be that of a mediator, and it will take measures only at the association’s level and not at the company level

  • In the unlikely situation of a trial between two APPW members, both of them will have their right to vote suspended until the final decision

  • To use the name, logo, and other intellectual property of APPW in the way established by the association. The potential violation of this prevision leads to the suspension or exclusion from APPW. The aspirant members, who are not already full members, are not allowed to use the association's signs. The logo can be used by the full members on their websites or promotional, only in the format which is sent to them by APPW, without changing or adding elements to the content or form

  • To maintain confidentiality with regard to APPW’s situation, database or discussions

  • Complaints against members regarding the potential violation of the Code of Ethics are accepted only if they are in a written form and if credible evidence which sustain the complaint is broth. APPW will answer these complaints as soon as possible, depending on the situation

  • To cooperate with APPW during the investigation of a potential violation of the association's Code of Ethics. The potential violation of this prevision leads to the suspension or exclusion from APPW

  • Not to take advantage of their position in the association, or to use their function in order to benefit from advantages for them or for other persons. The potential violation of this prevision leads to the suspension or exclusion from APPW

  • To collaborate with other members in order to avoid unpleasant situations, such as conflicts or ambiguities, which may bring harm to a member or to the association as a whole. The potential violation of this prevision leads to the suspension or exclusion from APPW

  • To avoid public declarations or to speak on behalf of the association if they have not been empowered to do it. The potential violation of this must be signaled to the Board of Directors

  • Not to bring harm to the public image or reputation of the association or of the other members by their activities. The potential violation of this prevision leads to the suspension or exclusion from APPW

  • To develop and share their knowledge in the field of manufacture, installation, and maintenance of swimming pools, hot tubes or spas with the other members

  • To contribute by all means accepted by APPW to develop the association and to bring in new members


    This Code of Ethics represents an internal regulatory measure of the activity of APPW’s members. The code is not a law, but its previsions require to the members a conduct which will always be beneficial. The Code of Ethics' previsions act on the members even after they cease to be an APPW member.
